Engagement

The Women, Business and the Law (WBL) team regularly collaborates with governments, global partners, and experts. Select an engagement type below to learn more.

Overview

WBL engages frequently with governments and other stakeholders. The aim of this engagement is to promote the understanding, dissemination, and usage of the WBL data and reports in a way that is transparent, open, informative, and efficient. An effective Engagement Strategy is vital for exchanging views, enhancing the understanding of the WBL methodology, and ensuring an accurate assessment of the business environment. Collaborating productively with WBL stakeholders is crucial for increasing transparency and maintaining data integrity.

Governments can engage with the WBL team through several structured interactions:

  • By completing web-based questionnaires on family law and access to finance, labor law and childcare services, and violence against women legislation for data validation.
  • By requesting a Bilateral Overview Meeting designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the project and facilitate in-depth discussions on project-specific matters, such as fundraising initiatives and the organization or participation in events.
  • By requesting a Bilateral Meeting on Methodology and Data Queries designed to focus on methodological questions and the presentation of economy or region-specific data queries.
  • By requesting a Bilateral Methodology Workshop designed to provide in-depth methodology training for governments. This workshop must be funded by the relevant CMUs, advisory teams, or other WB Colleagues.
  • By requesting an IMF/World Bank Annual Meeting designed to schedule meetings during the IMF/World Bank Annual Meeting.
  • By requesting an IMF/World Bank Spring Meeting designed to schedule meetings during the IMF/World Bank Spring Meeting.
  • Through a dedicated Feedback and General Comments form designed to seek valuable feedback from users, government representatives, private sector experts and other stakeholders.
