Valentina Yane Gauffin

Valentina is an Analyst in the Women, Business and the Law (WBL) team at the World Bank Group. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as a litigation and arbitration lawyer at leading Spanish law firms and gained private-sector experience in Switzerland, where she served as Legal Manager for a family office. Valentina holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alicante and a Master’s degree in Law from Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. She is currently completing an LL.M. in Business Law at UCLA School of Law, where she is a Dean’s Fellow. Her academic background is international, with legal studies completed in Italy and Australia (Università degli Studi di Perugia and Bond University). She is admitted to practice law in Spain and is sitting for the New York Bar Examination in July 2026. In addition to her professional work, Valentina is actively involved in initiatives that promote gender equality and global citizenship. She serves on the global boards of three non-profit organizations. She is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian and Catalan, has working proficiency in French, and a basic knowledge of German.
