Saman Rejali

Saman is an analyst with the Women, Business and the Law project, where she helps advance cross-sector partnerships, fundraising, strategic outreach, and government engagements. She joined the World Bank Group in January 2024, and consults for the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia Gender Innovation Lab and Gender Group. Through the Gender Group, Saman has supported shaping and implementing the organization’s gender strategy while advancing initiatives in women’s leadership and gender partnerships. Before her work with the World Bank, Saman served as Senior Advisor to Canada’s Ambassador for Women, Peace, and Security and as Senior Gender Advisor for Global Affairs Canada’s Peace and Stabilization Operations Program. Earlier in her career, she was a legal and policy advisor at the International Committee of the Red Cross, where she focused on humanitarian diplomacy, policy outreach, gender equality, and international law. Saman holds an honors bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in international development, with a specialization in gender and international law, from the Graduate Institute in Geneva. She is fluent in English and Farsi and speaks conversational French.
