Alejandra Rivera

Alejandra is an Analyst of the Women, Business and the Law project. She contributes to the research agenda on Women empowerment, and to data analysis and replication of the WBL index. Alejandra joined the team in September 2025. Before joining the team, she worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, where she conducted impact evaluations on the economic integration of migrants in Latin America and the Caribbean. Alejandra also served as a Research Associate at Innovations for Poverty Action, leading evaluations of migration-related initiatives, and worked at public institutions and academic teams in Colombia, including Fedesarrollo, Universidad de los Andes, and The Central Bank of Colombia. She holds a master’s degree in economics from Universidad de los Andes and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, and proficient in Portuguese.
