Compensation for parental leave is as follows: During the 1st year of a child the parent is paid 90% of his/her wages, during the 2nd year of a child - 75%. The parental leave during the 3rd year of a child is not paid. However, as of 1 July 2011, the conditions of the parental benefits will change: In case the parental leave lasts until the 1st year of a child, the parent will receive 100% of his/her wage. In case the parental leave lasts until the child is 2 years old, the parent will receive 70% of his/her wage during the 1st year of a child, and 40% of his/her wage during the 2nd year of a child. It should also be noted that there are maximum limits of remuneration subject to compensation via benefits set by the laws.
